So I've started a kroot war band. Yes, heavily outdated. Yes I'll have to scour eBay for the models and yes I'm up to the challenge so I deliver this week's first step.

Still working on the great knarloc this evening, I'll be doing the crew and bolt thrower as well. Just really wanted to steam ahead on the beast itself!

@ae2016, couldn't agree more. I thoroughly like the model line. Just wish they had better rules. Got some actual foot slogging kroot on the way. Where there will conversions in abundance.


@masterazalle, much appreciated I don't know really what to do with the hounds. As bar picking out there spines and the bits of equipment I'm left in quite a quandary as to what to do to them. Thoughts?

@butterycommisar, you're never to late. Just eBay and facebook groups though hold out a few months so I can finish my little foray into them.

@bocatt, Thank you very much. It's such a fun model to paint. I'm hoping to keep this relatively high standard up throughout the entire army. It's very unusual for me to paint never mind do it well. I'm much more of a shopper than a painter. Good ideas, good intentions but very little follow through when it comes to painting.

You could speckle them across their tops to tie them in with the Gnarloc along with darkening their snouts similar to the Gnarloc.

I've spent the morning speckling them up. At first it didn't show that well so I outta lighter green on the hounds so that the speckle would be more pronounced. Hopefully it's given a decent outcome. I'll do the beaks and equipment on the hound this afternoon while I'm also rebasing my ogres.

That definitely did the trick brother. You might not see it so much, since you've been working on it. But even at first glace, without enlarging the picture, the hounds look 10 times better.

There's now a stunning visual connection to your Gnarloc. I love it man, well done brother! I dont think i have the patience for those speckles, they look great!

Thanks for the kind words. There was no progress today. I hunted through the piles of hobby to see if I could find a krootox and give him a go in the same scheme. However he has proven to be elusive.

So no painting going on. But I've managed to put together some kroot trackers. Possibly some of the nicest sculpts to the kroots arsenal with the most lack luster rules accompanying them. Off to Germany for two weeks so there will be no updates for some time.
