Fixture of Dakka

So, this is a work in progress (about 1/4 to 1/3 done), but I've finished a few pieces and the general idea is starting to take shape, so I thought I'd post it up here.

The idea here is to have a set of modular structures which can either be used in the traditional City of Death ruins (building corners), or physically connected to each other to produce large structures. To make this possible, most of the buildings are actually made of more than one physical unit, to allow that building to be configured on the game table. Physically, the completed structure would occupy about a 2' x 2' space in the center of a 6x4 table. However, in the future, I want to expand it to a 40" x 40" structure (almost the size of a Khornetress) to be played on an space that's 6x10 or 8x12.

From a game perspective, these will be used to create scenario-based games of urban warfare where the buildings create such tight fighting spaces that special model selection must be taken into account.

Here is the first part, the Southern Perimeter Wall. You can also see how the pieces fit onto a Realm of Battle board.

With the Sanctum Imperialis, you can see how I've made a structure that can be used independently or as a part of a larger structure, or reconfigured as a different structure. The front balcony is a separate piece, but it's cut to be perfectly fit to the front of the building, as is the Skywall, which is 90mm deep to allow for larger models like Centurions and Dreadnoughts to comfortably fit. I've also made some archways by cutting out the doors from the Basillica Adminstratum kit.

Again, likewise for the Manufactorum. Part of the structure isn't glued in place, but instead, fit to stay together as one structure, or to allow connectivity with the wall to bridge the Sanctum Imperialis or the Manufactorum.

Here is the third major piece (so far) -- the fortress tower at the center. It too can be connected to a wall section or used free-standing. It also detaches from the plinth (not shown), to allow for a smaller/shorter tower. When completed, the structure will have two of these.

Hope you like my idea!! Please let me know what you think!

Nice modular terrain that doesn't look modular if you get what I mean
