I'm painting a librarian for dark angels. I wanted to break up the tubing with a rust tone but it seems kind of like a mistake rather than a colorful accent. The right tube has a small area of rust. How can i add chromatic interest to power armor cables?

Don't know if it's needed really, it looks good as is. But you could maybe paint them to match the sword instead, and have them glowing with his psyker power?

It looks good. I think once your other details are filled in, you'll be happier with it.

Assuming the shoulder pads will be different colours to what they are presently, I don't think the tubes will need any colour.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

You could use a brighter color for the tubes. Like a red/yellow.

But I think he looks fine as-is.

Bronze copper tubes would tie in with your warm glow on the sword and hand and yet allow them to be brighter.
