Aight guys and gals!

So this is my Horus so far, still WIP (currently doing the leather tassels from the shoulders). I haven't started on his ornamental base yet, I'd like to do it a marble effect but I'm not too sure how to do marble effect, any tips? Also I'm not sure what colour marble to do (most popular are white, black, green and blue), I've always been bad when it comes to colour schemes as I'm no good at choosing colours that work together, but I know I don't want a white marble base as it'd be too much white on the model, so what would you recommend?

Cheers in advance

Darker grey, really. When I painted my buddies we ended up choosing to go with a regular stone scheme, but going multiple steps into the highlighting to add the texture there. Since you went with such a bright scheme, a darker scheme will contrast more and would make horus pop a bit more.

I used this tutorial for my Guilliman:

Worked out pretty well, you can see the results over in the showcase forum or my gallery.

Painting Buddha also had a pretty good video tutorial, but harder to reference as you're working!

Cheers chaps, going to use an old bathroom tile and try out that tutorial using darker colours and see what I can do

I think a warm orange/terracotta marble would bring out the figure really well.
Glad to see another lunar wolves Horus, I'm going to do mine that way too.
