Hey guys. I will be updating this thread with units as they are completed. This is a tournament army in the works using the Adeptus Mechanicus War Convocation "Super Formation" from White Dwarf. I wanted to go very Grim Dark with these guys and tried to do some light source glow techniques without an airbrush.

You have an incredible looking army, but Hal 9000 is freaking awesome! Like something out of a mechanical nightmare. Keep up the great work!

Oh my god, it's HAL! That is hands-down the best Knight I've seen. It's so dark and brooding (too many brightly coloured Knights around for my taste). The base is fantastic too.
I'm inspired for when i build my own Knight now.

Your general light-source painting is superb too. I am trying to improve my technique in this area, so this is again inspiring.

Thanks. Glad it inspires! Yeah I really want the whole army to have a dark gritty feel, I have never been one for shiny new warriors or weapons of war. I prefer the long-campaign veteran look. Also, when doing metallics, agrax earthshade the GW wash, is my best friend.

Army shot?

Sorry for the delay! Work life interupted hobby life. As requested here are pics of lighting assembly. It is just a simple battery/ressistor/switch. Used the battery pack and left it loose for easy battery change if I accidentally leave the light on after a game. The switch has been placed on the back near the engine (see next posts photo) and I feel it really fits well in that spot. I received the model used, and it was glued using Gw plastic glue (evil stuff). It requires some serious surgery to get the carapace off and make it removable but without having it sit loosely on top also. Sits pretty snug! Thanks for all the positive vibes guys, defiantly inspired to keep it going!

Final HAL 9000 pic! More pics of other stuff on the way, and eventually an army shot once I get the display board finished! Next up is the kit-bash Void Shield Generator. I received a very discounted (VERY) bane blade and a Forge world dominus soo the two are getting smashed together with a plasma ball! Will post pics soon.

C'mon guys, just because he's a HAL 9000, doesn't mean he's the HAL 9000, you should know better.
