I painted my first units for the skirmish tabletop SAGA last month. I started with a Norman army, which is well-known for the fast attacking cavalry units and the efficient crossbows/archer units. The crossbowmen are from Gripping Beast miniatures and the kights are from Conquest Games. I painted this army with a mix of Armypainter and Citadel paints but kept it very simple. I first applied the base color, followed by a softone wash and then highlighted again with the basecolor. This was my first historical project and I will expand my army within the next months with more knights and some archers.

Excellent work! the subtle pastels are a nice change to the overkill bright normally seen on SAGA warbands. Those bases are very nice too.
