My painting is coming along. Not crazy about how I based the model and still can't quite figure out my camera, but I'm learning.

Feedback and comments appreciated!

(see link) When using just a quick basing method with texture paint Id recommend glueing small grit around your larger stones then painting over it all in the martian iron earth to create the effect that the rocks are coming up out of the ground. If just brush it thinly over your rocks it wont crack and look weird. As for the model he is tidy and i really like the subtle glow on the pipe under the gun. I think its a nice choice to add interest to the model with the green spot colours too! Good work!

Wow, I like the scheme! Simple but with a little bit of nice highlighting. As far as basing goes, I think it's all pretty good - the rocky and desolate look appears pretty good with necons.

The armies that I collect:

- Tyranids, 2,000 pts.
- Orks, 1,250 pts.
- Tau, 750 pts.
- Guard (PDF), 750 pts.

(Yes I have a thing for horde armies to some extent)

for the camera, did you maybe focus in as far as you could and then clip it? Just because one thing I have learned, at least with mine, is to focus further out and then just crop the pic so it's the size I wanted. Ignore me if you did already or this isn't making sense not an expert by any stretch

I like the mars look of the base! it's certainly a contrast to the figure. And the paint job on the necron is nice!
