Hi all,

This is a Necron Overlord that I painted for a comp at my FLGS.

It's the first time I've painted a necron and I found it quite interesting. I've got a long way to go so any c&c would be really appreciated

Thanks for looking!

Also, I'm sorry the pics are sideways, not sure how to fix that! :(

Thanks man! Was fun to do, makes a change from painting power armour!

I'm not sure if I should build a bigger scenic Base to slot that one into, or if I should leave him as is.

As an update to this, I decided to make a scenic base to display the model on for the competition.

I started off with an old bike model display stand and built up my foundation. I used an immortal to judge how much room to leave for the base. Some of you will have already realised my first mistake, but I'll get to that later.

Stage 1:

Some sand thrown down:

A few paint layers:

Finished product:

At this point I'm ready to slap a bow on it and call it done. As I've already handed in my model, I take a nearby terminator to slot in the gap to see if it needs any more dressing.

Now you know that mistake I mentioned earlier? It is at this point it dawns on me that an overlord uses a 40mm round base, whereas I have been using a 30mm immortal as my guide.

Awesome.

Cue hasty cover up:

Basecoated:

Finished base to follow.

Thanks for looking!
