So, I want to expand my medium sized Tau army to be realy big and epic! So, anyone got any sugestions on how to expand it? Here is what I own so far

I'd also like to have some tips on how to equip my New Crisis Suits I'm gonna get to replace the old ones (No magnetising, I just cant do that.. Realy dont like magnetised bits..) I'm planning to build 3-6 with Fusion Blaster and Plasma Gun.. Thats all I know.. I wanna have a few to face all manner of opponents..

Actualy, I already got a Ork army. And a Guard army, And a Necron army, and a Space Wolf army. Tau are my favorite army though, I love the models and fluff, And no, I dident pick them because they where strong, They where not when I started them. They are my first 40k army, And I started in 5'th edition when Tau where realy weak (Took 2 years to win a single match..)

Skyrays and some missile sides are a good place to go.

Also, consider the Tau fortifications? I particularly enjoy the Shieldwall.

I'd say the shieldwall would be cool, so would another stormsurge and riptide. But what you really need are some Ghostkeels, they are a lot of fun and they look pretty awesome.

Only one piranha? Personally I've always really liked piranhas, and to be honest they're not really a bad unit at all, they're just kinda overshadowed by all the bigger, flashier, newer crap. Definitely give them fusion blasters if you get any though, burst cannons aren't really the best since S5 shooting is practically everywhere anyway.

I love tanks, some of the first Tau models I ever bought were devilfish and hammerheads. I really think it's one of the best vehicle designs GW's come up with. They may not be so great anymore but if you want an "epic"-sized army then you couldn't go wrong with a few hammerhead tanks, which could also be fielded as a formation if I'm not mistaken.

Farsight's cool, and running FSE could help change things up a bit if running regular Tau ever gets old. It's an epic sculpt, too, the only problem is that it's Finecast and I've never had the best luck with it.

As for how to equip crisis suits, it's changed over the years but I think right now it's universally accepted that the best way to equip them is to give them two of the same gun rather than mixing. It's just better to focus on one role for the unit and specialize than try to do it all. I always liked the fusion/plasma combo myself, and it's how my old-ass XV89 is equipped, but you'd probably be better off doing all fusion blaster or all plasma rifles (for some of my new suits I planned on building 3 with dual fusion blasters and at least like 6 of them with dual plasmas, not sure what to do with the others). Dual missile pods used to be one of the best configurations, but I'm not sure if it's that great anymore. Probably not as good as broadsides with HYMP.

I also really like the Tau terrain, but I wouldn't buy it with the intent of using the actual rules for it, just because it's kinda silly. I just think it would look awesome (even though that means I wouldn't actually be firing the railgun at people).

My gut instinct is to say with gasoline and a fire source but...

I think you should look into the new Commander kit. Build it as the Coldstar. The kit really does look quite awesome. I have half a mind to get one just to have one (I would probably convert it into Farsight, reasons for which should be fairly obvious to anyone who knows what my user name actually means). It is kinda too bad his rules are not all that great.

If that isn't our bag, look into the Tau Shieldwall series of fortifications. They look pretty cool and have pretty great rules. I know Tau have crappy flyers, but I am kinda partial to them too.

For Farsight, I dont like finecast but one of my old crisis suits, That is unfortunately broken, uses part of the old metal Farsigth kit, Or the sword atleast. So if I can repair it and give it the right equipment I can use that as Farsight.

I love my Tau, but I always struggle to decide what to get for them, Thats why i'm asking for sugestions and writing them down ^_^

I've always liked the idea of Stealth and Recon orientated, perhaps try and get your hands on more Pathfinders and Stealth Suits, maybe even some of the old XV15s.
I sure would love me some of those guys...
