I dreamed of having armies that I just decided how I wanted them to look and made it that way...like you have done many times..you have inspired me to go purchase a crap pot more GS and get to work on my sculpting skills...Great job keep up the good work.

Wow, high praise, thanks a lot. GS takes a little while to get the hang of but not too long and the results can be excellent.

It's really inspiring for me to receive such messages so thanks for that, I'll be pressed for time for a bit but might squeeze in some more stuff soon. I have finished these next 2 and made a start on the next 4..

Sarge and Deathwatch sniper, I'm thinking of doing the DW guy in black armour with one silver arm (al la DW) and one blue one (al la Ultras) also the white helmet to make him fit with the unit, any thoughts?

The one with the drum mag, its a chaos knife I think? Either way it reminds me of those veterans who kept around the pearl handled colts as a sign of the things they've done, only this marine has got himself a cool knife

The 'drum mag-face mask guy' has a gaunt claw as a knife but in very much the sense you're talking about. I wanted them to have cool trophies scattered about the place.

Sorry for the long silence, I'm sure my fan missed me. Things have been hard and time consuming in the real world but recently I've been able to get a little 'me time'. I started doing a bit of idle inking and suddenly I had a massive spooge of enthusiasm to 'the hobby'. Here is the remainder of my Sternguard/Tyrannic War Vets..which i where we left off last time.

These I actually finished in July (the last time I posted) but I never got pics..

Pew Pew Pew. He's gaunt blade guy..

Shoulder crux is repeated on knee pad..

His other shoulder pad is black with chapter symbol, again it's mirrored by his knee pad..

Has shotgun for 'Close Encounters' guy...

Here are some wips (nearly done) of the other 4 guys....

There's the finished glamour shots of those guys up now in the gallery. I currently had a building splurge, I've built and converted a Predator and 2 Stormtalons. I've made a start painting the Pred and I'm also painting my converted librarian.. The next build will be a Stormraven to round out the airforce, looking forward to that, I plan some minor conversions for it too.

Black armour but I gave him a blue arm and kept the white helmet and bolter housing to tie in to the unit more....

I wanted him to look a bit crippled but still going, lots of damage and cybernetics but lots of trophies too, full notes on the builds of all these guys a page back I think...

Some of said trophies...I started this guy in 4th, back when it was a big deal to kill a 'Stealer.

These are probably my favourite pair, just cool guys, I've two more of this squad and then I'll cover the vehicles I'm doing next..toodles.

I really like the use of white for the boltguns. Now you've got me rethinking my Ultramarines. That's not a good thing since I have two other projects to work on right now.

Combi guy and other gaunt 'crysknife' guy (with that symbol you said I should add to one of their legs MGS).

The obligatory 'PURGE' on the scroll work on the leg, I couldn't think of anything else. There's a discarded mag at his feet too. Although the GS work is a little old now (I probably built him in 07-08 or so) and a bit shonky, I think it looks ok painted.

Laurel wreath and crux on shoulder pad.

Other guy, stabby stabby.

Bolter arm is from the 'Master of Recruits' from the original Masters of the chapter box. The body forms my Librarian who is underway at the mo.

Stabby trophy knife.

As mentioned above this unit have been kicking around for ages but obviously have been pretty daunting. It feels pretty good to finally finish them and to have added Cassius to lead them as well. I might add another guy (thinking combi grav) and maybe a Rhino but there's now rush on that front.

Up next is some work on vehicles which will be a nice change of pace, I might try to get a few shots of the existing ones too, also my librarian is nearing completion so some pics of him soon..

Great stuff as usual, the green stuffing and conversion does look a little rustic in places but that's only side by side with your more current work.
It'd be nice to see a squad pic with cassius from the safety of my computer desk before actually meeting them on the battlefield of war.

Looks excellent as do the rest of the unit. Had to have a quiet alone time moment looking at the sniper.

I will be, after very many years, finally following you into the wide world of marines, having decided that FW are taking too long to make all Mk8 squads to buy and giving up for now on Mentor Legion, I will be building a small army of the galaxy's biggest douches.

The Minotaurs! (because I'm going to airbrush the entire thing brass and dip em...).

Apparently they totally hate on Ultras, so we can either have grudging team up games, or get to enjoy canon-friendly fights.

No Mentors? They were the chapter I nearly did. They don't all need to be in Mk VIII. Still, be interesting to see you joining the dark side and fielding power armour, anything precipitate this? Jon just got his new Blood Angle book so I feel some hot marine on marine action in my future already.

Well, a combination of several factors, Wife got me the Badab War poster and everyone in the FW design team signed it next to their favorite marine, I got very dispondent about the new ork codex (which I'm still angry about), Andrew-my-namesake got me that sweet limited edition marine Sgt with Hv Bolter

I will do a small Mentors force when they do Mk8, perhaps a detachment or something to go with my Imperial Guard.

romulans for me next though, wife is getting dominion and we're going to start up a little group playing STAW for shiz n giggles, although, me being me, I've already been furiously sourcing better scaled ships from shapeways etc.

Yes, the Dev Sgt, Hamath Kraatos, he carries a HB instead of the usual ccws. Has some tasty skillz too, preferred enemy (lots of them), sniper rounds, ability to turn one model in his unit BS5 per turn... Dead sexy.

I currently have a Macharius Vulcan, an Armageddon pattern Medusa, a colossus bombard and a Thunderbolt fighter for a mechanized Imp Guard force I'm building.

The Ork book was dreadful. Full of annoying and unnecessary nerfs to things that were an issue in 08... It was one of the oldest codices and they tore it down. Most annoying was the change to mob rule. Very poor effort. I've tried taking my orks out a couple of times since and they really are gutless in comparison to the old book.

I hear the dreadmob is being redone by FW, I'm hopeful to see what they might do and would be up for a walker based force.

Ah he's FW, that's why I haven't heard of him, I've kind of lost interest in them since they became an arm of the Black Library...

So you just need 100 infantry to make a good IG army there! Would you do MechVet or just Mech?

I did have a cursory glance at the Ork Codex and it seemed ok but not exciting. Pretty much all the new books are like that though so don't feel singled out. The new BA book is a very sober affair, still good but much less 'FlyingGoldenNippleLandraiders!!!"11!!2121!!!' which is probably a good thing.

I hope the Santa daemon warped in awesome plastic crack for you, I got the sexy new Tack box and the old looking Assault box, these (combined with a bunch of bits/wrecked old crap) allow me to complete the Battle Company! I just need to find the time to build and paint 30 Marines (sigh).

Here is my current offering..

My Librarian. The body is the 'Master of Recruits', the arm is a metal one I had spare and the hand an old 2nd ed era one. I added a 'psychic collar' instead of hood and an eye motiff on the belt (all my psykers use this symbol).

Paint paint..

I intially went with a blue cloak but decided it was too close to the armour in colour (obviously). I don't do Libbys in blue(r) armour, only Chappys and Medics get different colours.

I plumped for green in the end, ties in with my astropath in the IG...

Nearing completion....I'm away ATM but will post more pics when I'm back home. I hope to find more time to churn out these guys, I'm also feeling the siren call of IG and even my Medieval army (Perrys just released a perfect kit for it)...
