I'm in the process of rebasing some of my older Chaos models to rounds - not specifically for AoS, but if they're compatible so much the better. Are Chaos Warriors and/or Chaos Champions now on 32mm rounds? What about Beastmen and the various types of Daemons that were formerly on 20 and 25mm bases? Thanks!

A great rule of thumb is anything on 25mm squares is now on 32mm rounds and anything on 20mm squares is now on 25mm rounds. Another method is to look at the Warscroll on the website or app and see the base in the picture

But to answer your question, Chaos Warriors all go on 32s, most Beastmen (with the exception of Ungors) go on 32s as well. I think all Deamon infantry are on 32s as well, except maybe Slaneesh Deamonettes.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

For some reason, the characters are a size up from the infantry: Night Goblins are on 20mm rounds, but a NG Shaman and Warboss would be on 32mm. Likewise, your Chaos Champions should be on 40mm.

This is often the case, but not always. Some Chaos heroes still go on 32mm for example, and the Fyreslayer heroes do too. So you should try to check the pics for some guidance, and see each unit's entry on the GW site. In many cases they tell you there which base they ship with the mini.

Some heroes, like work ones, are notably bigger and get bigger bases, but most don't. Also seconded on Bottles rule of thumb.

Thanks guys - I'll go 32mm on the Plastic Warriors, and make a judgement call on my older metals for whatever "fits" the models best. I've got a lot of old metal RoC models that would look fine on a 32mm but tiny on a 40mm.

32mm for regular Beastmen? Damn, that seems a little extreme. I might end up setting the normal guys on 25mm and just the heroes and special guys on the larger bases.

I don't think anyone will have a problem with that.

Heh, hopefully nobody will have an issue with how I am basing my High Elves. Infantry on 30mm rounds and cavalry and warmachines on 50mm round bases.

Makes basing look that much better with the lipped bases in my opinion.

As a followup - what bases are Savage Boyz and other orcs now on? (I'm not going to hate on AoS and am willing to give the game a go but I'm refusing to call them orruks or aelves or ogurs). If 32mm is the official size for regular ones now, it might actually help me a great deal with my KoW army building while also being perfect for AoS...

Probably 32s. Orcs are pretty big.

Sorry to piggyback off of this thread but does anyone who has the alliance order book know what the new standard cavalry base size is for sisters of the thorn? I am thinking it's likely the smaller 60X35 ovals, but there are also larger 74X46mm Ovals so I am wondering which ones to pick up.

Much obliged!

Its the smallest of the ovals; that's what gets used for all the non-monstrous cavalry I believe.

All greenskin and savage orruks are on 32s, even heroes. As per the greenskin's get started box.

use whatever you feel for.
i sendt a mail to GW not many months ago asking about bases for AoS and the reply was that i could use whatever i wanted, as bases are not part of the gameplay.

if you want to use old squares do that, if you want to use lipped bases do that, if you want to make a big senic round 50mm base for your standard infantry you can.
