Hey guys ! A while back I was raiding my sizable bitz box and found a few choices pieces , which led to more choice pieces, which led directly to a Lord of Change for my 40k Daemons army ! I was never a fan of the current model and wanted something a little unique.

I believe he came out well all around and am extremely proud after working on him for many weeks.

There is a fair amount of green stuff here and there to help smooth things along, and the Pumpkins on the base are pure green stuff. Im going for a halloween style theme for my Daemons army, with each base having a colour from their patron god , and pumpkins / tomb stones to tie them all in !

I had the genius idea (So should have pinned instead) of magnetizing him to the fly stand, which was a great idea until he was finished and the magnet I used (while powerful) was too small due to the wing weight and position, so I glued two larger magnets ontop of the existing ones.

Parts from 9 different kits (left overs) were used in the making of this model.... see if you can spot them all !

Thanks for looking !

The model is lovely and worthy of Tzeentch, both in painting and modelling.
The main thing that puts me off is the static legs, they take away from the overall quality imho.
(EDIT)
I have just read that you said you magnetised it, but my point still stands.

Thanks for the kind words guys !! He certainly was a blast to convert up and ( to an extent ) paint !

The pumpkins are surprisingly easy to produce in bulk from green stuff

Haradrada ; Yes I will admit at first I was put off by both their size and grounded look. Thanks for your feedback !

My only problems is that the tube holding up the flame/tzeentch icon is very distracting for the rest of the model, and the legs look a bit odd.

However this is still a really cool conversion. What bits did you use? I can see daemon prince but that's about it.

Yes I had considered for quite some time some alternatives to the tube to get that flying effect. I considered using Wire but honestly couldnt come up with anything more preferable :(

Yeah the legs I will admit I'd have loved to chop off midway on the shins and replace with chicken feet ( or those on the frost pheonix kit ) but sadly didnt have any better alternative This lad is made entirely of spare bitz.

The parts used are from :
Legs , 1 arm - Daemon Prince
Orb arm - Skaven Verminlord
Tail - Lizardmen Ripperdactyl kit
Torso - Tomb Kings Necrosphinx kit
Head - High Elf Frost pheonix kit
Wings - Tyranid Hive Tyrant kit
Swirls on base - Burning Charriot of Tzeentch/herald on charriot kit
Icon - Pink Horrors of Tzeentch box ( Banner/standard bearer)
Thigh armour plates - Forge/mauler fiend kit for Chaos Marines

Decent brushwork and the figure looks pretty good. The flight stand on the hand is really jarring and ruins the whole thing for me. The other flight stand glued to the base stuff looks rather fragile.

As a whole I don't think the flying effect works, nor the hand mounted post. A neat conversion but those things really stand out to me.

Fortunately its really solid on the base, I use a very cheap but extremely solid super glue

Yeah the hand one was a bit of a consideration for me. What would you have suggested or done ? Id be definately interested to hear about peoples alternatives theyve done or tried.

The only way I could imagine sneaking it in there would be the typical old trick of using some kind of plastic sculpted flame, or scroll or scenery element. Any kind of sculpted smoke, etc. Failing that, I'd have likely left it out.

Hmm now you mention it a pyre of flame shooting out of his hand engulfing the Symbol would have been ideal... But I am horrendous sculpting flame. I had to sculpt a few ends onto the bottom of the head and side of the arm but had a lot to work with in terms of keeping the flow of existing flames. Never tried to scratch sculpt them.
