I'm trying to come up with a good blue for my heresy era ultramarines and was wondering what others opinions were. What do you all think of the blue? Sorry for using the Sigmarine (didn't want to have to strip a marine if it turned out bad!)

No comments? I'm not sure if it's too bright for 30k.

That looks pretty nice I think, lovely shade - certainly quite close to some of the Collected Visions artwork if that's what you're basing it on.
I always think with this kind of thing you're helped by a) the lack of consistency in the 'official' representations b) the argument that over hundreds of thousands marines would they all have been the same? Nope.
So if you like it and it's easy to produce, I would run with it!

Looks pretty good. almost looks metallic which i like. I can kinda assume its a blue glaze over sliver base seeing as how its pooled in some areas.

Thanks for the comments guys! I think I'll pull out a Calth marine and give it a shot. It is a blue glaze and shade overtop a silver base. I'm not the best painter so you can definitely see the pooling and some splotches.
Can any of you more experienced painters give me some advice on what colors I should use for the gold on a model with a bright blue metallic color? Would a darker/cooler gold work better or something bright? I use GW paints.

I always though the bright yellow gold always looked kickin on smurfs. but that tends to look very cartoony. but it depends on what you are going for.
