Hey all, I need some help with a bit of a painting dilemma I'm in. Recently I started myself a HH Iron Hands army, and after doing some heavy research I've come to a conflict with their paint scheme, obviously we know they wear black power armor, with silver/metallic highlights and details. However after looking at the Forge World paint scheme, they also look Green/Brown with an oil slicked appearance. Obviously wanting to try and follow the fluff of said legion as best I could I went with the FW Scheme.

I do it as Follows:
1. Coat of Chaos Black Spray.
2. Coat them in Leadbelcher mixed 50/50 with Lahmien Medium.
3. Wash heavily in Agrax Earthshade.
4. Wash lightly in Biel-Tan Green, using my finger to spread the wash giving it a smeared/worn look on the armor.
5. Detail using Rune-Fang Steel
6. Wash in Nuln Oil for shading.
7. Use Iron Breaker for edge highlighting.

And the rest is pretty common for the lenses of their helmets.

However my conflict comes in that they are also said to wear all black armor with silver trim/highlighting, would it be wrong if I used both schemes in my army, mixing the worn out armor with the black armor to give an effect of fresh replacements and hardened troops who have arrived recently to replenish losses? And which scheme is more fitting of them... It's caused me a bit of worry I may have done their scheme wrong! Will add pictures so you can see the scheme I ended up with.

Any and all help would be GREATLY Appreciated, thanks in Advance!

The nul oil would probly wash away most of the effect of the earth shade.

you know, I actually thought the same thing when I first started with it, but it actually brings out the Agrax and Biel-Tan Green more in my opinion. My main issue currently is which scheme is correct, and if both are, would it be a bad idea to mix even the all black Iron Hands Scheme with the greenish faded type in squads.
