Hi guys!

I practised some weathering techniques yesterday. I think it looks nice, but I was wondering if you have some ideas or comments about the paintjob?

I am no expert, but I like it! could use a little mud on the treads though. I found cheep brown paint and flour made into a paste makes a cheep mud.

The top picture looks real good. The running rust on the vent in the third picture is really good too. The pic of the front and the bottom of the third pic don't really look too natural too me. I think I am seeing too many straight lines. Maybe try to soften the edges a bit.

Have a look at this video. The big advantage with this stuff is that if you don't like it you can just wipe it off.

very good. maybe try a little grey metallic on some of the panel edges to represent chipped paint

Looks nice!

I'd like to see some pin wash and panel lines, not too much though.

FIrst pic looks great, although I think you should extend the weathering down to the lower parts of the hull that would see the most mud and dirt. Typhus Corrosion is ace for that kind of job, after which you can blend it back to the rest of the weathering.

I like the technique on the second picture but it's not clear why it bisects the panel like that. If it's a localized effect like a weapon strike, you can enhance the effect by having it fade outward, with a darker center to the current color on the edges.

Third picture is great with the exception of the stripes, which aren't very natural. Unless they're meant to be faded camoflauge or something, which honestly would be pretty cool.

Thanks so much for your comments!

Actually, I forgot to mention that the lower hulls havent been worked on very much at all.

The stripes are faded camouflage. Personally I like the fading but on later tanks I will do them a bit differently.

I would love to do pin washes, but I never seem to be able to get reasonable results with that technique.

I will keep working on this poor mud covered work horse and post more pics soon!

Thanks again!!!

I'd suggest adding a little sponge chipping around some of the edges, where paint has worn all the way down to the primer layer. Do it with a dark color for some nice contrast with the lighter shades of the rest of the paint.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Wow! That looks very convenient! I love water based products since they are so easy to work with and move around. I actually ordered all the washes after spending just 10 minutes on the site. I will try them out on my next vehicle!

The brits seem to be real experts in making nice weathering products. Model Mates rust effects has changed and enhanced my painting a lot!

So, thanks for the advice!
