Hey guys,

Being a massive fan of Nurgle, and the Death Guard in particular with a large 40k army, naturally I got majorly excited when Calas Typhon ( and later Mortarion!) were released.

Now I have NEVER played 30k, do not own ANY 30k besides this guy and have never really wanted to start a 30k army. I bought this guy mainly because I had always wondered what Typhus would look like without his helmet and thought it would be cool having a before and after of him !

He has sat in his box pretty much since he was released, however last night browsing some 30k legions and becoming just a tad inspired, I decided to dust him off and make a project out of him.

I am going to try to paint as much as I can however I am expecting things to get a bit busy over the next few weeks.

Appologies for the first two pictures, I decided to use my Webcam rather than phone to save having to transfer, and am tweaking the focus.

Out of curiosity, does any one know a good way to try and minimize the gap the bracket causes when you slot the smaller base into the large one ?

I want to keep the small base detatchable from the large one mainly because I am unsure which is considered standard for a character ( should I ever play 30k ) .

At this stage I have a pin in which the bracket connects with but I still find myself unable to close the gap.

Any ideas ? (Never built a HH character before )

However, if the large Dreadnought size base is considered normal for fielding a character on the field, let me know and i'll happily glue it all together

I think the large base is just for the scenic resin base. The smaller base is correct for tabletop use. I wouldn't worry too.much about the gap, I suspect you'll hardly notice it once it's painted up.

@ EDC : Ok cool , I had thought it was just for display when I saw some others come off on Terminator sized ones as well, but since I hadnt seen them all like that I had my doubts haha.

Looks awesome dude. You've managed to get that done really quick!

See what I mean about the display base and the gap around the slotta base, hardly noticeable. Especially when there's an awesome focus to focus the attention!
