When I was younger, I always loved the old style whirlwind model - the metal conversion kit for the plastic rhino. Over the last year or so, with some lucky eBay bids. I've built up a squadron of 3 Whirlwinds for my 30k and 40k salamanders. For 2nd hand repaint jobs, quite pleased with how these turned out.

They look good!

Hope you've weighed down the fronts though, that was always my problem with that model - it would tip backwards really easily!

Nicely done. I’ll admit to liking the new ones better, but some days, you just need to kill people with crayons. And you gota respect the old school.

Got an old metal land speeder to spot for them in the suppression force? Either the really old flying chair, or the not quite as ancient chunk of lead from 2nd?

Ah the old Crayola launchers! The painting is great, as Nevelon said I like the new models much better but they look good.

The old launchers, wow! Paintjob is awesome, but the launcher truly can't compare to the new stuff.

Thanks all for your kind comments. They are less detailed models than the current tank, but the open launcher has a charm to it - and I like the open, detailed gunner position.

Ha ha, I have 2 dreadnoughts that double as home defense when loaded into a sling

Those 2nd ed metal vehicles could literally break your toe if they fell off the table onto your foot
