I literally had a dream about a knight being closed away for thousands of years. This prompted me to get off my butt and finish mine. My renegade knight, locked away and completely mad!

I bet, did you use an airbrush, or did you do him by hand? He has a really gritty dirty look. He's definitely got that locked away madman feel about him.

No airbrush. All by hand! GW's technical paints are really really good.

I'm loving the messages on him, I think it gives a lot of character to him, like he has been lost for so long, he's finally just gone completely. I like to think that the last message is just 'DIE' Like it's his last coherent thought or something

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.

This is what I like to see! Looks like a blast to paint and no lazy airbrushing! I'd love to see what the pilot looks like.

That texture of the paint is ace!

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Awesome! And yeah, I've got a lot of use out of some of their technical paints, typhus corrosion is a cracking little pot for weathering, I'm guessing you used a fair bit of it! Haha.

I hadn't even noticed he didn't do the base! I'm actually looking forward to seeing what you do with the base now thekerrick, any specific plans?

Yeah it would be cool to hear what became of the pilot. Did he die, was the knight found with a dead pilot who scratched his hands down to nubs on the locked doors of the cavern? Gross

On a side note, I don't think airbrushing is lazy, it's just a different technique, it's certainly quicker in some cases, but there are many things that can't be achieved as easily with hand brushing that can be achieved with an airbrush, and vice versa, if someone finds it easier to achieve a different result one way than another, I don't think it really matters, so long as the result is achieved.

Ace job, man! Love the graffiti and weathering.

I think the question remains, that if most knights who lose their marbles never leave the suit, then who wrote all of it?

or is it a case of "then who was phone??!"

Ill go over what I did.

First, after priming, I base coated all the colors. Red, White, Black, and all the metals. After that I washed it all in nuln oil. Then I used Typhus Corrosion over most of it. I dont recommend globing corrosion on. Its literally like grainy mud and it covers all details. You have to be very targeted with it. It also dries quick. After Id put it on a section I would wipe it around and into cracks with either my fingers or a paper towel. This gave it that streaky effect. After that I dry brushed Ryza Rust over the metal areas. The grit and sand in the corrosion paint gets picked up when you dry brush and it looks a lot like rust!

Thats about it. Very simple to paint but a lot of fun.

On a side note I was working on a cool scenic base for this and as I was drying some wash on it in front of the space heater I melted and warped the base. So I wont be doing the base for a while.
