Subject: [KS]TMS Campaign - Vampires starts MAy 10th.
We surely post teasers from GW here so I think this is the right place.
I need to know more about this undead Egyptians.

Jenkins: You don't have jurisdiction here!
Smith Jamison: We aren't here, which means when we open up on you and shred your bodies with automatic fire then this will never have happened.
About the Clans: "Those brief outbursts of sense can't hold back the wave of sibko bred, over hormoned sociopaths that they crank out though."
Are you guys shooting for getting the entire Undying Dynasties out with just the completion of the Kickstarter, or are you looking more at getting the heroes/lords and core units, with Special and Rare units coming out as stretch goals?
Also, guys - if you're going to make an announcement for a kickstarter, make an actual announcement, not some vague video that's down on GW's level of "cleverness."

It will be the entire range. We have made some models already for the range Pharaoh, Hierarchy and the Shabti (will be officially released Thursday).
This video is just a heads up. To be honest it wasn't planned to be showed outside of T9A, but I wanted to know would there be any interest in the subject, and how will it be viewed outside of T9A community.

I would recommend to not restrict promotion to video though. While it might feel insignificant; for many there is a barrier against clicking on videos and if viewing from a public computer, from work, school etc, there might be restrictions against playing video clips.
Put some large, good quality pictures out there as well.

There are a lot of good things GW has done that anyone else in the gaming community can imitate and build on. Teaser trailers that don't show anything aren't one of them. I'm interested to see the models but some text on a black background doesn't really do it for me until then.

Indeed, watching a pointless video with no information just pisses me off.

The campaign is on Indiegogo, it has a lot of artwork, pictures exc.
We released the Shabti art a few months ago, then about 2 moths later a different company released their models almost identical to ours, it could be a coincidence, but just to be on the safe side we decided not to publish anything until the campaign is released.
The video has the information what and when it will be released.
Hight quality resin infantry/cav models are really expensive to make. We are aware of it. But at them moment it is what it is. Fortunately other companies have much cheaper options. As to the rest they are very well priced, at leased that's what the community prof readers say. The campaign is constructed in such a way that it is loaded with freebies. And most perk levels have free shipping.

The artwork looks promising, and I do feel your latest miniatures, like that dragon, looks like a marked improvement from your first undead minis.
Aren't that delivery date of December 2016 extremely optimistic though?
If you raise around say 10k Euro that's already like ten big monster sized models, plus skeleton infantry, cavalry and chariots? To me, it doesn't look realistic for a smaller operation like yourselves to manage all that in a few months. Of course, if you already have a lot of sculpting done, it's a whole other situation, but in that case, you should really show pictures of the work in progress so far. I personally don't feel very comfortable backing stuff on artwork alone and I don't think I'm alone.
The indiegogo campaign is a confusing mess of perk and pledge levels. What the feth am I supposed to choose? Half are sold out? WTF?
OMG and it's rife with already sold out hugely discounted early birds. I may just sit this one out.

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke
Well based on our current work tempo we estimated 3 months of hard work, But if we get close to 10k we will outsource and get some 3d sculpting done, we already have a few amazing people on stand by.
The company may be new but we have on average over 15 years of experience in providing hobby services. And before TMS we (the company founders) had (still do), companies in the hobby.
As to physical production we have 6 people who do production work for our companies. Right now we can produce in theory about 200-250 miniatures per day, and very easily we can double even triple that if needed.
Up till now about 10% of our focus was on producing miniatures, and we decided to shift our focus. So I understand your concerns, as they are justified. With in the next few days we will be showing more of our work. But to be honest I will start worrying if we hit 30k.

Yep, the pledge system is rather convoluted. I don't think I've ever seen so many different levels.
If this campaign would get big it's potentially a nightmare to get packaging sorted if you have hundreds of backers spread over something like 60(!) different pledge levels and over a hundred different addons.

Well, I hope you do have the capability to handle the traffic if this gets big. (May I ask what the remaining 90% of your focus has been on until now if not producing miniatures?)
Those kind of optimistic time tables are a huge red flag to me unfortunately and brings up memories of Avatars of War's dwarf kickstarter who funded a massive amount of kits but only produced something like half of them, after years of delay.
You mention that you might do plastic kits (which I assume means HIPS) if you exceed 20k in funds. With the kind of lead times at the few places who can tool those kind of molds (like Rendera) and the fact that such kits must be sculpted to take the material into consideration (which you presumably has not begun with yet since you don't know if you'll do them in resin or HIPS), I just cannot see there being a chance in hell to get those out before the end of this year.

Judgedoug there is no one forcing you . Its our first miniature crowdfunding, so we have some things to learn. And we are aware that some mistakes were made.
We did battle mats and custom terrain, Some WW2 miniatures, but that was more of just to try it out.
Resin we can do not a problem, we have our own foundry so we are not worried.
While the AoW Felix decided to go plastic, and this is problematic as the waiting time to get a mould made is on average 3-6 months , I've even heard 2 years (when requesting an offer). And if it was his first attempt at making plastic, so it was possible he just was not ready for it.
I will spoiler bit, there is a technology that could get us plastic moulds done much faster, the problem is it has not been tested. So I take it with a does of salt, but we will try it. If it fails we will take the traditional route.
To sum things up, we are 99% certain we will meet the December dead line with resin castings. And since we made no promises on plastic I will not get in to it right now. We need to do some tests, and once we are 99% certain we can deliver plastic, we will announce it.
Zywus I understand your concerns, at T9A site people were sceptical also, hell I would be too. But they turned around. And its our job as TMS to prove to you we can deliver.

It's generally a good idea to put the campaign page up to be looked through by the public a few days before launch. I know that's possible to do on KS so I assume that can be done on IGG as well. I suspect you'd have gotten some feedback on the bewildering number of pledge levels and addons and been able to perhaps revamp the campaign to be less convoluted.
I would still recommend you to remove at least half the pledge levels if it's still possible (not the ones already pledged to obviously as they're locked in). Apart from just overwhelming potential backers, It looks a bit unprofessional IMO.

I wish you the best of luck. Not ready to take the plunge myself yet, but we'll see how the campaign progress.
BTW, may I ask why you chose Indigogo rather than Kickstarter? Usually I see creators preferring to use KS if it's available in their country and KS are availibl in Poland.

I see. I saw several KS's located in Poland and assumed it meant that they were among the opened countries.
I suppose all those are technically created by representatives in other countries then (Your own Shieldmaiden Kicstarter must be among them, since Greece is not part of that list)
