Like the figure! For tanks go with the armour colour on the figure/but you would need to lighten it to show bleaching by the desert sun. Also, add some stripes with the brown and again lighten it,for the bleaching!

I assume that is around the line of "Kommando Khaki" for armor colour and a "Beastal Brown" for the body.

So something like this maybe?

Then tank camo like this?

This is fairly easy to do: Get lots of silly putty.
Prime the tank and let dry.
Spray the whole tank brown and let dry overnight.
Put silly putty on the tank where you want to keep the brown.
Spray on the Khaki.
Peel off the silly putty and viola!

Try using Halford's yellow ochre primer for a base on the vehicles.
here's some infantry I've started using it:

& here's a tank which is my 1st try at airbrushing but I used the Halford's primer as a base for it too:

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Talizvar has an excellent point. The IG are very similar to modern military, so camouflage like that would look quite good! If that's not the look you're going for, just choose the main armor color and highlight it! IG gear is usually quite weathered as well, so apply some rust and/or oil stains until you find the right amount!

I would only add that the empire of man is not terribly caught up in trying to be stealthy so adding one more awful gaudy colour would not be bad.
Maybe a borderline rust orange?

NORMALLY you put down a light colour first THEN dark but you would need an awful lot of masking putty to not get a mainly brown tank. Two coats may be needed over the brown.
