So, I want to paint them in the same style as the M1A1/M1A2 Abrams tanks that are being used in Afghanistan and other parts of the Middle East right now. Looking at pictures, it seems like it's the following:

Primer: Gray
Base: Zandri Dust
Layer: Ushabti Bone
Tracks: Black where they'd touch the ground on asphalt/concrete with some scuff marks and Zandri Dust and possibly some Ushabti Bone in between

And then some weathering effects painted onto the end of the barrel of the main gun, along the sides, and some stains here and there from some different colored sand.

Does that sound about right?

Thanks

SG

Outer Space, Apparently

Sounds accurate to me. Could be quite bright to layer the whole thing with Ushabti Bone, so maybe keep it to highlights. Even better, try some tests on some sprue or spare Leman Russ parts. I've done the beige on my Guardsman using Tallarn Sand, but this produces a rather yellowy desert colour.

As for weathering, you can use Stirland Mud for dirt highlighted with Terminatus Stone or similar, or even use Armageddon Dust for large build ups of dust in the tank's recessed areas.

Hope this helps
