Well I recently finished my nice big squad of 20 Zombies, so I need to get started on the guy who brought them to the party! As much as I like the GW Typhus I feel he's looking a little dated and I wanted something a little special as the HQ on my Armies on Parade board. Enter the FW Typhon model! OK so I'm not going conversion crazy on this guy as I already like a lot of the esthetics involved. Just adding the little touches of decay Papa Nurgle demands!

yeah, that works

I use typhon as typhus too, I thought about converting, but decided not to bother with mine...I just painted him with an appropriate amount of rust, dirt, grime, etc, and painted his eye lenses a kinda glowing, eerie, pale cool green...he looks the part, and in a pinch he can still (just) work for 30k too

I like your additions though, they add a sufficient amount of nurgly goodness, but it's not too much, so it doesn't take away from the great-looking original model

I think you need more zombies too btw ....drown them in bodies!!

...it's good to be green!

OK so not 100% satisfied I decided to sling it up to 11. Throwing the cares of transporting my model to the wind (cos if it's worth doing it's worth crying yourself to sleep at night over), I raided my bits box and ended up here!

oh, modelled destroyer hive eh? niiice!...I did think those bee swarms from that new tree-thing could be useful for something nurglish, but I hadn't thought of that...nice one!

haha...I was not expecting the red!

now, I immediately thought I wouldn't like that...but...it's actually growing on me the more I look at it...kinda makes a nice change seeing something nurgly that's not off-white/murky green/mud brown...yeah, not bad

I think he does need a bit of spot-colour though, maybe like the green bits on your other dudes?...at the moment, just glancing at him, he kinda blurs into a red/gold brownish blob imo

Yeah he's only about two thirds of the way through at the moment. Got to add the mossy green and rust colours the rest of the marines have to him! ^_^

He has 20 Zombies to go with him ...

And a nice big Spartan to transport them all!

Yeah ok, that's pretty nice ...yeah, your typhus should fit in quite nicely with that lot

...and now I want a spartan ...my poor boys only have a pair of rhinos ...which reminds me, it's actually been way too long since I last worked on my nurgle marines...so far this year, I've been too busy with my orks and my nurgle daemons, and now I'm adding 30k/40k salamanders to that list

He's different, and perhaps a touch "christmasy" ...but he does look pretty darn good, I like him

the flies were a great idea!

Paintwork looks pretty good. I don't love the scheme, but who cares? It's not mine! I'm not feeling the swarms coming out of the stacks but it makes sense if it's an actual wargear item modeled onto the character. All in all, a great transition.

I love the conversion, not a fan of the red, but put it with the rest of your stuff and it works nicely, so all in all that's what counts!
Nice one matey !

Christmassy !?!?
