So seeing as the GW buggy is super old and super small I picked up some toy trucks and went to work. I wanted something a bit more menacing so I choose something taller but still about the same length as a gw buggy, It's much shorter than a trukk. Took about an afternoon to finish. Comments and suggestions please.

(Couldn't resist adding Artemis. The pose works just as well running away!)

While the painting looks good, it could use some more 'Orkifying' to disguise its origins a little. Right now, it looks more like a battered toy car than an Ork buggy.

Yeah I have to agree with this ^. It doesn't look 40K to me, it looks like a toy car with some Ork bits added. To be fair though I find this is a problem with the vast majority of toy-bashed stuff though. It takes a lot of work to disguise a toy.

It looks good, but it needs to be a bit more... angular.

Yes I see what you mean thank you for the input. Looking at some of the GW trukks and BW gave me the idea to cut out teeth plates and "rivet" them into the the front. After that...just more armor plates I guess? Any ideas?

Also it did well in its first game yesterday. Outflanked and immobilized a fire dragons wave serpent. "I don't need it jinked it's just one ork rokkit"

I'd be tempted to lose the front brushguard completely...maybe replace with a dozer blade or something sinister looking. Maybe some orky center caps for the wheels as well (blades, or sewer lids or something with bolts in it). Ideally I'd be tempted to replace front or back wheels with spare tank tracks - even if it's not with the fluff.

It would just take a lot of work to make it super incognito.

I really like it. It's not 40k looking enough really but its good enough for a simple solution. Its a nice paint job and a fun concept.

If you really wanted to go all out the real clincher would be to bust out the windscreen and give this thing an interior with an ork driver and a big slobbery squig riding shotgun. The more you do this one really the better. But not just more damage and orky stuff stuck on, I mean really pull it to bits and build it up like a plastic kit.
