Hello All,

Here is my latest work. A converted Blood Angel Hero/Captain.

The body is metal and the rest is plastic and a small amount of greenstuff. I modified terminator lightning claws to fit this body. On the right Hand I cut out a finger and replaced it with a pin and sculpted a finger in greenstuff around it to make it pointing.

I have seen powerfists pointing but not lightning claws. Maybe there are some out there that I am not aware of but I made this one because I thought it would just make this model look right.

I plan on selling this model and wanted some honest opinions on what you think I should sell it for. Thank you for in advance for your advice/opinions.

D.

Clean conversion work. The paint job is nice - much better than I can do. The pose is a bit static; not a bad thing (personally I like relaxed, natural poses), but it means the model might not catch the eye the way something in a more dramatic pose might, which is a consideration if you want to sell it.

I do have a bit of a problem with the pose though: it might just be the photos, but his balance is a bit strange; it looks like he's leaning backwards for some reason.

I have no idea about prices, it's just not something I know anything about, sorry I can't help you with that.

Thank you. I know on the Blood Angels haircut but I did not think the bald look would work as well with him and I really wanted to have his face seen instead of having a helmet.

Thank you, When converting I try to make it look like it came from GW themselves. Clean, hopefully natural looking. It took a bit to make those terminator lightning claws fit. The hoses on them were a bit big and angled wrong for the shoulder pads. But they ended up working out.

I have to say I did not know who IronDog Studios were until you posted this. I looked at his site. We are very similar in painting styles and even a similar generation. Though instead of GW models in the 1980's it was Battledroids/BattleTech and various D&D type fantasy models that got me into painting. I have been painting models for well over 30 years now and have been painting for living since Mid 2000.

Thank you.

Thank you, I hoped he would look like a bad ass. He turned out better than I had hoped. He was to be an Ultramarine originally with a helmet on but it was better this way.

Thank you,

The pose is a bit static but that is because the base model was a Space Marine Chapter Master. The one holding a helmet in his powerfist and a sword in the other hand. It was the older metal version of this model so it would be very hard to make it less than static. The balance is a bit of both the camera and the model itself. GW placed him with one foot on a slight rise of rocks. It makes him seem to be tilting back. I tried to remedy that by placing a little more support under him but it still came out that way. I have attached an photo of a side-by-side of what the original version of this model looks like by GW and my conversion of him.

Thank you all for your opinions.

He looks great and you've done a very skilful conversion. I honestly don't know where to start putting a value on him for you and frankly only you can do that. I guess you need to have a look at eBay and other sites and see what similarly price models sell for. He's very well painted, but he's also unique. But he's not a commissioned piece so no one has asked you to do this for them, so at the end of the day you're kind of at the whims of the market unfortunately. You could get a great price, you might not. That doesn't have any bearing on how good or bad your work is though I think it's wonderful honestly I do, and I hope you get a a price for him that you are hoping to make.

Good luck
