Just getting back into Warhammer, in my absence it seems they have totally overhauled the game. To be honest I think I like it better.

So- questions

Summoning.

1)Let's say it's a 1000 point game and I have 4 heroes. Can I summon a 5th? (Tomb banshee or cairn waith, etc)

2)I have 200 reserve points left in the game, I want to summon 10 skeletons at 80 points. I roll double 6s now it says I get 20. Is that an option? Or is it forced? I may possibly just want 10 and maybe summon other things (like the tomb banshee above lol)

3)Seraphon- are the Slann mages the only people who can summon troops? It says "Slann wizards" by summoning for seraphon (which is only Slanns I think), but I noticed for Death it says Death Wizards (which is everyone that's a wizard). So I assume it's only Slanns. (And engine of the gods)

4) do I have to deploy two battle lines at the start? Or can I summon later? I would assume you have to start with two, otherwise they may never come out due to the enemy canceling my spells.

Battalions.
1) using skink patrol as an example, can I still play other units? Say guard or regular Saurus? Or do I have to play just those units in the battalion. I would assume you can but just verifying.

Battle phase / shooting phase
Line of sight sounds easy, but tricky. So basically if I can see even a toe of a model sticking out of cover I can shoot at it? Even if it's behind 5 rows of my troops and halfway behind a tree? Also, side question, does it change matters if it's a behometh model? Edit- also, does it matter if the unit is engaged in combat or not? (Shooting out or shooting into)

Last question is just suggestions. I have some decent ideas for my Death guys, either zombie horde w carts or possibly death rattle.. But what are some good combos for seraphon?

Thanks in advance!

Terry

Yes

You must have the proper Leader + Battalion units for the points cost your playing.

Yes you can have an entire army aside from that.

2) The spell states "up to 20..." so you are free to deploy just 10, or even none if you changed your mind

Yes, yes, no, and no. Short of buildings or other solid walls you can generally see almost everything, you get used to it though.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Don't you still get charged the points if you don't want the unit? I thought I read that someplace

No. What it says is the spell or ability "... is still considered to have been used, even though no unit actually arrived."
