WARNING: PURELY NOSTALGIC AND POINTLESS POST AHEAD
So I was looking through my boxes full of miniatures in preparation for moving out of my apartment and I came across the first box of Warhammer 40k I ever painted. It was a group of Ork boyz who are mostly all broken now and one nob, but it brought back memories of me as an 11 year old kid painting these guys and being so excited by it. So I thought I'd post them here and see if anyone else feels like sharing some pictures of the first models they ever painted! Maybe add some recent models for comparison, just to appreciate how long some of us have been involved in this amazing hobby and far we've come.

This is a fantastic idea! Everybody had to start painting some time and it's nice to see what we have learned over time.

I got this goblin from some ancient mail order starter set (a goblin, and elf spearman and a space marine and some paints for those curious). The other models are some old GW gretchin.

These guys came in the same blister pack, but were painted a couple of decades apart:

Whereas terminator captains have come a long way model wise, and not just my painting skill improving over ~20 years...

Nice! I'd never seen those old models before, GW really has come a long way, along with your painting

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.
