So after posting this i received some criticism that the piece seemed "incomplete" and that there was a "coherent theme." After taking a step back and re-analyzing my work, i decided that some of these were helpful criticisms, so therefore I decided to make some additions to this diorama so that it tells a story. The thing I heard most was that "there should be some creature sneaking up on him." Hopefully you can find this said creature, and I think it absolutely works. Thanks Magic Man and a few others for your helpful suggestions, for now, i think have a solid piece that tells a story.
The idea now is that the monster hunter heard something from under a ledge.... sworn drawn and on alert.
I also like that this spider is uncontrollably spinning web and exuding goo in anticipation to swallow up his prey.

The painting of the base and model is fantastic; as is the design and execution of the base.

If you are looking for criticism/commentary. The only thing I noticed is that the model doesn't sit well on the base. It's very clearly just stuck on, and has very little interaction with the fantastic base that you made.

If you have another attempt/build another diorama, I would look to perhaps integrate your model better.

The terrain and everything is superb, really nice.

But i can't help but feel you missed a trick not having a troll or something leering up at the monster hunter from under that ledge.

I kept looking to find the hidden monster, I think that would really finish the piece.

You know you and many others i have shown this to has said that. To be honest it's good that i showed it to a number of people because I didnt really think of it until I took a step back and saw what others had to say. I may go back to the drawing board and add something to make it super awesome

Is the hidden monster not the spider here? Would you rather there be two monsters?

Eek! That spider is huge! I hate spiders!
Seriously, that spider does look really nasty. Gave me shivers. Great work.

Really nicely done.

Only thing I would say is for such a large base there isn't too much going on, the base is fantastic but I would have a little more going on. A bit more of a story.
