So I am interested in starting a Combined army to add some variation to the Human Factions that I play. I was originally intending to build a Morat Aggression Force but after reading about them I realised that I don't like their blunt play style. So then I looked at the Shasvastii, I like the way they look but it seems a lot of their models are older sculpts. Are they due to a resculpt? If so it seems pointless to invest in them. From the rumours on the internet it seems much more difficult to predict the Infinity release schedule. At the Adepticon press conference there seemed to be no announcement on them which is a shame as they add some variety to the Human Factions in the game. The droid based army doesn't appeal to me aesthetically so they leaves me with 3 opions.

1) Stick with the original plan and get a MAF despite not liking their play style
2) Start a Shasvastii force despite a resculpt looming
3) Build a Vanilla Combined army using all the models that I like

Which would be the best option?
I'm fairly new to Infinity and don't want to sink money into a faction which is limited to play with or will get a load of resculpts. However I do like themed lists so I'm reluctant to start a vanilla list.

Gathering the Informations.

Shasvastii are kinda weird. We know there's going to be a redo for the Sectorial as a whole, but they've been kinda/sorta implying there won't be a huge amount of resculpts?

Short answer:
Nobody knows!

Long answer:
Look into Onyx Contact Force. It has a blend of Shasvastii, Morat, and the EI stuff contained within.

It's essentially a vanilla army in and of itself, but it lets you play around a bit more.

Shasvastii are pretty much guaranteed to get a makeover in terms of models when they're Sectorial gets updated, with the notable exception of the Sphinx and Noctifers.

When that will happen is guesswork, but is likely to be at least a year away.

Thanks for the info Kan and IJW, very useful. It looks like it's worth holding off on the Shasvastii and focusing on the Morat or Oynx Contact force.

The Anathamatics may need to be added as a stealthy death dealer though. Too good a model not to buy.
