Another RPG from the folks that gave us the widely acclaimed Pillars of Eternity.
Release trailer:
I'm only a few hours in, but I'm digging it. Solid combat system that keeps the better parts of PoE, and adds to it, like companion abilities and just refined mechanics. The RPG elemenents are pretty much like PoE's as well but a different format and add a bit of Elder Scrolls feel as well, as you skill up stats as you use them, in addition to XP from killing enemies and completing quests.
I'm trying my best to be the sword and board "White Knight" that I do for all my initial RPG playthroughs, but damn.... Its hard being a good guy when you live in a world thats essentially conquered by Evil, and you helped conquer it. Some of the choices you have to make are brutal, even if you try to do the right thing. For instance early on, because of choices I made at the starting sequence (Conquest Mode) I negotiated a hostage situation peacefully, and after the hostage taker gave up his prisoner, he was immediately killed by the surrounding troops, despite my promise of his safety.
Its shaping up to be a pretty unique experience. I'll admit I wasn't too pumped for this as I wanted a PoE sequel instead. But after playing it and experimenting with "Conquest Mode" at the very start and how the world changes based on those initial choices, I may well play this more than PoE. Time will tell as I get deeper.

I haven't played Pillars of Eternity (waiting for a decent Steam sale) but this is definitely on my Wishlist.
The biggest complaint I've seen is that it's pretty short. Seems repayable though (to see the results of alternative choices) so I think this one's a winner.
Obsidian have just been getting better and better in recent years, looking forward to their next project.

They just did an AMA on Reddit the other day, I don't think they are only doing Isometric games. It makes sense for them to use the engine they worked on for the kickstarter, for multiple games though.
I didn't even realize this was out, I'm going to have to pick it up on steam first chance I get!

That's not true, though.
Pathfinder Adventures came out in September, Armored Warfare is just over a year old, and they're Westernizing Skyforge. Obsidian's thing, and they've openly said this, is taking other people's IP and making it better...sometimes.
