I am trying to mold a piece of a knight armor for practice, but soon find out that the instant mold is not very good with curved surface, the mold always ends up with cracks and tearing, can anyone give me some advice on that?? thank you
I have attached a photo i am trying to mold. And can anyone recommend any great image hosting website?? so that i don't have to use the attachment.
Keith

Are you putting it on layers pieces or all in one go?

I've never had instant mould tear or crack on me, you have to make sure it's warmed all the way through and it remains malleable for only a few seconds. It's not really appropriate for moulding large thin pieces like that though. It's only really good for smallish press moulds. Also discussion of recasting copyrighted parts is not allowed. If you don't want the thread locked stick to talking about casting your own parts, not someone else's.

You cannot post/discuss recasting GW/ PP/other company parts here. Otherwise do your research on two part resin casting

It will be hard to do exactly what you want without some prior skill

You need to use a single large blob of IM and make the cast in a single go. Adding IM to a bit at a time will leave you essentially with multiple seperate moulds as hot IM does not stick will to cool IM.
