Not long ago I bought my first glaze to use for a also newly bought High Elves army. However I really have no idea how to use the glaze, and I can't see how it differs from shades. Anyone care to explain?
Also, any improvements on the way I paint the blue layers (or suggestions for other colors) - right now I do the following:

Basecoat: Kantor blue (regal blue)
Shade: Drakenhof Nightshade
Layer1: Alaitoc Blue
Layer2: Lothren Blue
Glaze: Gulliman Blue

While you guys are at it, how do you get these more "smooth" colors, as supposed to my very... uneven paint layers?

Starting at about the 2:05 mark the video gives a brief description of the washes and then the glazes.
