Ok, so I'll start by saying the blue horrors from Silver Tower and the Burning Chariot are pretty. And get pricey as well. But there is a solution, and it only requires a hobby knife, a specific box set, and minimal green stuffing skills. The humble VC ghouls box can create 10 blue horrors; you just need to cut off the hair/bones on their backs and green stuff some tentacles/tendrils. You can go further, of course, but if you want something that looks angry, is the right height, takes minimal conversion work, and most importantly won't break the bank, then start buying up ghouls. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Little blue paint and you are there.

And GSing tentacles is probably the easiest thing to start with, from a scratch building POV.

Nice idea, looks good in practice too.

Thanks guys. Honestly, I could spend a TON of time on each one and make the face area better. But this is designed to be a fast, dirty, and easy substitution for people to get inexpensive blue horrors that doesn't take serious skill.

Here's three with a blue wash added. No details picked out yet, nor a dry brush, just proof of how simple it can be.

The idea looks pretty solid - but the picture above doesn't look like they're painted at all...what am I missing?

PS: I assume there will be a plastic box of daemons coming out for the horrors soon, right?

Nothing triggers the release of a plastic box like someone kitbashing a few dozen of something.

They are actually sprayed blue with a wash. Poor lighting, I'll take a better pic later.
