So one of my favorite things in the hobby is to find pretty bad models and bring them back to life from disappointing to at least a decent standard. I just so happen to find my DSLR the other day after 6 months of being lost after a move

This was one of mine the other day. After pic is still WIP but wanted to play with my camera again before i get some new lens's in the next couple weeks!!

The Model was missing a few pieces, including some track pieces and a head light so I had to go into the bits bin and get a little creative.

Lets see some of your best turn arounds!

Nicely rescued ... I think we all have old models we want to refurbish ... I got an old Tau army that I am contemplating on giving it a go lol.

Very nice paint job and recovery of a model in need

My entire current Eldar army is mostly eBay rescues. There is definitely something cathartic about rescuing old or poorly painted (or beaten up) miniatures.

It seems silly but I think it's cool that I can buy up some old beaten up metal Eldar from 2nd ed. which were probably purchased in 1992-1995 and painted by an excited 12 year old - and then strip, repaint, etc. and put the figures into service for another 10-15-20 years. The small, insignificant pieces of metal will have seen years upon years of gameplay.

Give it a shot!! I enjoy painting tau (pending the paint scheme mind you )

I've been even going back and redoing some of my models from when I first started the hobby. At that point I just wanted to play and I painted my models fairly quickly , not terrible but much quicker or simple than I would now. I've just kinda fell in love with the painting and modeling and photography side of the game and now I look for models to fix up.

Nicely done!
Love how a few small added bits gave back the impression of a newly built model.

Till now I have only used old/damaged models for scenery and markers, but maybe I'll give it a go.
Got an old landraider I bought used from a guy 12 years ago. "Converted" to chaos so it probably needs some fair amount of work. Thanks for the motivation

Nice work!...I love ebay rescue jobs, I'd say 80%-90% of my now kinda ridiculous model collection came from ebay, mostly for orks - which I feel is almost a fluffy way of acquiring an ork army really, an ork warlord gradually gathering new followers to his Waaagh! from across the stars

...it's good to be green!
