I am currently back at building my imperial army and wanted to make the base looking like on a ice world.
I already glued on some sand and wanted to paint it black so i can put on some rocks later and make some ice with baking soda, glue and white paint.
Can anyone recommend me some rocks/rubbles etc i can decorate it to give it more of a realistic feeling?

If you want consistent stuff, buy a couple different sizes of Railroad terrain ballast from Woodland Scenics. Quite cheap, and plenty of it. I create a mix of three sizes which I dip my bases in.

I was pissed when they repaved one of the roads in my neighborhood. On my daily walk, I’d grab a few rocks from the beat up section. Over time it made quite the supply. But then those darn workers had to repave it. Sure, there are less massive axle-breaking pot holes, but also less basing supplies!
I’ll gladly sacrifice someone else’s car for my Ultramarines.

One of the best rocks I have ever seen/used is actually charcoal. If you know anyone who has a char coal grill, when they are done with it and they dump out the used bricks gather them up into a plastic bag. You can crumble it up in your hand and it breaks up into all kinds of very interesting shapes and sizes and you can crumble it more and more to get finer pieces. FW Flyrants come on these lopsided bases (they are not round) made of rocks. This base was filled out using that method and it blended in very well.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

I like spending the money and getting railroad talus. Have consistent size rocks for basing is nice, especially smaller bases where you need more control.
