As the title says I'm currently looking for tips/tricks on how best to paint a starry night or spacey cloak on a warhammer 40k model. I'd love to achieve something like this( ) but really don't know where to start. I've watched and read a bunch of tutorials but none of them seem like the best approach to achieve this at such a small scale and I'd really love some pointers. Any advice is welcomed/appreciated!

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Taking a look at that cloak, I would think you start off with a matt black background then all the colour you see there looks to be made from dots of blue layered with dots of white and green, finally pick out a few stars with a cross/star.

That's just what it looks like to me. :/

Scratch my reply, just tried it and you also want a layer of blue/green under large concentrations of stars.

This isn't a great example (fast paint):

Here's my first attempt! Really happy with how it came out! Going to do a few more tester pieces before I apply it to a model!
