I've created a couple of PDF files: kit for a foam core Rhino/Razorback and kit for a foam core Land Raider.

I'm gonna post here progress on my alpha test build of the Rhino/Razor.

So yes, I have developed a little obsession with creating scratch-built paper 40K models. All the usual reasons.

I find Patoroch's model designs awesome, but overkill in 3-D detail for my taste! Also, I'm clumsy and tend to crush my paper models.

First I cut the pattern into bite size pieces to waste less material. Then spread a thin even coat of white glue on the foamcore and stick em down.

Cut out, and assemble the hull sections:

The side hulls are three pieces thick. The center hill is a box, and you can see the sloped parts are 1/16" art board.

The paper skins will wrap around these before I slot them together.

Now some weapons!

Did I go overboard on the Storm Bolter? Yes I think I did. But it's still totally sweet. Have to simplify the outline though. It looked bigger zoomed in on the computer screen.

I also made a selection of Razorback roof mount weapons, of course. The central mounting brace between two slices of 1/16" board, between two flat weapons.

Heh, the Assault Cannons are hex-tubes wrapped around a stick of foam core. Overdone again!

Add the weapon shields, they just wrap around the blocks.

Ya, that works for me. Could use a tiny pattern adjustment here and there.

K that's as far as I got yesterday. Ill probably wait to finish it next weekend.

Ok, now the skins. BTW the colors came out much darker than expected. I have to adjust my color profile I guess.

First I gotta wrap the edges of the side hulls with treads and tops. Then the skin for the sideas.

Then put the rear hatch plate onto the belly skin. The paper is the hinge. Skin the middle hull.

Now pop these together.
Crap I forgot the top skin of the middle hull has tabs to hold it onto the side hull. I was supposed to wait to put the side skin on OVER that tab, see.

Well I'll cut em off and change the image file since that's an avoidable point of failure. I only did it this way so the top paper skin is solid across all three hulls... not really that big a problem.

AND DONE.

Aw I forgot to design in a hinge thing for the side hatches. Also they are actually too tight.
I won't bother with my next one, but I'll change the file in case someone else wants to do hinged doors.

Great job. Not a replacement for a real ones, but nevertheless, looks awesome.

Any chance you are willing to share the files?

Yep, that's the plan. First I need to make a few fixes to the images where the lines are a bit wrong.

Also I have to fix my computer cuz it won't charge or start right now. XD

Looks almost Borderlands/cel-shaded because it was printed out.

Great 'paper'crafting

Nice work!
I've made a few paper-craft vehicles myself, and I give you a lot of credit for making your own template. I do like Patoroch's designs, though I struggle with printing them out at the right scale. (Once ended up with a Battlewagon the size of a Rhino ). Thanks for sharing. Have fun!
