Figured I should start one of these again now I have a sort of Photobox and can take in focus shots of what I paint up, starting with the most complete stuff I have to hand but there's a lot at various stages like 40 Emperors Children, a Blood Angels force at primed stage and lots of random items.

Nice Sons of Horus. What is the colour scheme may I ask?

The green plate is prime black, drybrush on Leadbelcher, then a lighter drybrush of Runefang, then its literally just washing Coelia greenshade around three or four times. The end result should be a metalic green that has natural light acting as its highlights, its hard to show in still shots. The dread has sponge chipping added as well.

I like the black, leadbelcher and green wash you went with. I much prefer a darker green compared to the paler green they are sometimes done in. I always thought if I was to start a Sons of Horus army I might ignore the green and get an early start on the Black Legion. I think you have changed my mind.

Ignore this (100th post celebration):

Yeah I don't like the bright green ones either, the whole goal of my "legions" project is to be closer to the art than the official schemes so lots of metalics and washes rather than highlights.

Strangely enough, I much prefer the paler approach, but having studied both the metallic and paler approach I am intrigued by both. I might add in some metallic ones at some point, just for variation (it seems unlikely to me that a military force spread across the galaxy would change their armour to the exactly same shade, there could be local variations, perhaps in allegiance to particular leaders).

Yeah it certainly seems possible that in the age of Legions when power armour was being churned out that there would be large amounts of variations in the colouration and composition of the kit used. I just prefer the look of the Forge World art books tinted metalics.

Couple of days off work so I chipped away at some of the back log with some finished work for Silver Tower and half way done Emps Children.

Nice! Excellent work on the Silver Tower stuff.

The inquisitor and his Zealots are cool too.

Wow nearly 3 months without any sign of life, so much for trying to upload more. I'm going to be honest, I just haven't felt in the mood to paint and so while I've plenty of built minis theres almost no painted things from the past months, still I have a rare couple of days off and all my overtime has lead to me jumping head first into the Batman Minis game, so here's a shot of the first bit of this, I have a couple of metals I've not worked on from Knight Models that I will start working on soon as well, as much as I hate multi part metal minis.

Ah winter, when priming worthy days are rarer than plastic Battle Sister release dates, still everythings cleaned and ready including the metal animated Harley who will be the Harley in Jokers crew when all is painted up. As I was waiting for the various things to dry I knocked up some Guard character minis and just to show its not all building theres a couple of mobile quality shots of some buildings I'm working on too.

Hey I updated within a month this time, thats progress right?
