Hey everybody, im a lil new here so forgive me for any mistakes.
anyways, onto the topic, i just love the idea of grot tanks, but the forgeworld models are a little boring to me, id prefer to convert grot tanks from small ww1-ww2 tanks to add more personality and flavor, however i know nothing about tanks and i need to know from you history buffs what ww1 and ww2 light tanks would make for good grot tank conversions! as well as a link to an online store for bitz for the tanks, lists of tanks that would look great are highly appreciated.

Thanks guys!

I think the Renault FT mini tank from WW1 would look great as a grot tank. I'd say probably a 1:48 or 1:35 scale model kit would be about what you need for it to be grot-sized, though don't quote me on that. Find out online how long one of those tanks is in full size, then divide that by 48 or by 35 and see if that's about the dimensions you want. Then have a Google and see if any exist in that scale.

That would be nice, i was thinking of the BT-42, Marder III, Marder III and the Panzer II C from flames of war. perfect sizes too, only problem is finding some bits. ill post pics of them

They would work well, though Flames of War may be a bit too small. They're 15mm, so a medium tank like a Sherman is around 5cm long. The lighter tanks like you've mentioned will be smaller.

The Flames of War tanks are great models though.

If you want a more agressive look, ever thought about the german paratrooper tank, the "wiesel"?

Dakka is the ork word for shooting, but the ork concept of shooting is saturation fire. Just as there is no such thing as a "miss" in a target-rich environment, there is no such thing as a "dodge" in a bullet rich one
