Hi!
Just finished my DP for my DG army. I'm pretty happy with the results!

This was originally a Khorne DP that i converted a bit and painted over. I got the thunder hammer from the helbrute set, it was a pretty good fit. There wasn't much paint on him, so i decided to just paint over.

If you guys have any questions on technique, what paints i used or whatever, i'm happy to answer!

Let me know what you guys think. I'd appreciate feedback on my work and my photos. I only have my iphone to use for photos at the moment, but i am planning on getting a proper camera and a better setup for the photos.

The paintwork looks fine...the model feels pretty "herp derp" to me though. Just the shape/expression etc. I also think the green is rather more "lime" than I'd probably expect.

Thanks for the comment. The lighting is making it a bit more yellow than it is in reality, I need to get a better photographing setup. I like that its bright though, it creates a nice contrast to the dark bones and wings.

I like it!
Nice colours and paintjob all around.
I like the wings and shoulderpads alot, and the basing looks really nice without beeing to much.
Perhaps it feels more "lizard king" than Nurgle, but thats not really a problem.

Im not fully sold on the hammer arm, but it sure make him stand out mor from the standard DP kit.

Thanks!
The pictures make og look a bit more yellow and shiny than it is in reality, but I was going for a glowy look. I like it trying new things and having my models stand out on the board.

The model looks to be painted exceptionally well, so hear me out on the next bit...

It doesn't look Nurgle at all to me. Even the green isn't really a Nurgle green. It's an awesome model but doesn't really convey Nurgle at all, at least to me.

Appreciate the constructive criticism! I dunno, I like the contrasting colours, I love the bright toxic glow he has, it really makes him stand out. Nurgle is always so muted, dull and boring. I wanted something new. I just think a DP should stand out. He's not as "radiant" as he appears in the photos in reality though.

Technically the model looks good, however it isn't very Nurgly. Currently the only "nurgle" thing about this miniature is that it's green. That's it. You have to do more. Take a drill and knife to it and carve out some wounds, take some putty to it and add boils, add some extra detail to it to create blisters and bruises and rashes. Make the hammer rusty. Add Nurgle's Rot to it just for an extra little something.

I dont like the dull and dirty nurgle look so i usually start with a warboss green moving to moot green on armour for my guys armour and then a nurgling green highlighting to a pallid witch flesh. ill show a pic he isn't done but it gets away from the dullness and lets you play with a bit more contrast.

Facts are chains that bind perception and fetter truth. For a man can remake the world if he has a dream and no facts to cloud his mind.

I agree with the others that he doesn't quite seem nurgly enough. On the colors, i like the brightness and contrasts!

Is there a way you could subtly add something like a few oozing sores (fun times!) to give it more of a nurgle feel?

realism is a lie

I really like the wings, they look great. The skin color is of course personal preference, but it's distracting in my opinion. Overall you did a great job.

Do I have something in my teeth?
