Hi everyone

Back when I was at school I used to collect lord of the rings miniatures from the magazines at the time and played some games with them at school, I also collected Dark elves. I was going to continue with dark elves but I really dont like the changes with age of sigmar and it seems the standard armys that were rich with specific unit's for that army are no longer in production. So I decided to jump on the hype train and started 40k with Tau.

I have started with a optimised pathfinder team and a start collecting set box. I got some toolbox's from amazon for hobby box's, tried a few different brushes but eventually bought an artificer.

My first attempt at painting them 2 weeks ago did not go well, see pictures. White and blue is a very hard scheme to get right.

I stripped the models and started out over, I used mr muscle and then methlyated spirit to strip them, when base coated they come out ok.

I started again with a red black, which has gone ok, I feel like I could change the hands and feet. There are quite a few mistakes, but I think for the first try they turned out ok and much better then what I had before. I do plan on touching them up abit.

I'm going to be started the xv8's in the upcoming days. I'm considering what to buy next, I'm hoping to stick to the farsight enclave storyline for the most part, so my HQ will have to be farsight and I don't really want to take any characters who have a loyalty to the Tau empire.

Some of the bits I've bought to start the hobby again

Welcome back. I think the red/black is looking fine. Hope to see more as you go. I've always liked the farsight storyline as well, even if you are a xenos heretic who must be exterminated...

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.
