So I themed my BA army in a sorta baal wasteland look, just wondering if anyone knows a good gaming mat to simulate baal?

Depends, there should be enough deserty themed play mats around actually. Frontline Gaming has quite a few good ones. http://store.frontlinegaming.org/gaming-mats/

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.

Honestly, skip Frontline - their mats are pretty sub-par compared to most other companies (and they used to charge quite a bit compared to other manufacturers - not sure if this is still the case).

Are you going for a darker brown, kind of bad lands approach?

DeepCut has the following two options:
http://www.deepcutstudio.com/product/wargames-terrain-mat-badlands/

http://www.deepcutstudio.com/product/wargames-terrain-mat-red-planet/

PWorks has a couple:

http://www.pworkwargames.com/en/gaming-mats-terrain-tabletop-mousepad-rubber-pwork/208-gaming-mats-terrain-tabletop-deadland-pwork.html

(The one above is probably a bit too dark)

Urbanmatz also does some:
https://www.urbanmatz.com/p/214/desert-6x4

Gamemat.eu has some also:
https://www.gamemat.eu/our-products/battle-mats/6-x4-g-mats/6-x4-g-mat-fallout-zone/us/

Basically be prepared for about $90-100 shipped regardless of where you go. The US based ones always cost more, so it's just as good to order from Europe (they seem to have far better art/designs than the few US manufacturers).

All of the ones posted are 6x4 mousepad material.

Note that some manufacturers use the same art, because they purchase the license from the artist.

I second what Elbows said. I love the gamemat.eu mats I have, and the Urbanmatz look great as well.

There is also this kickstarter that puts the new (8th edition) deployment outlines overlay-ed onto the mat, they will customize it as well. They have a good record with kickstarter too.

That would really ruin the immersion for me...but perhaps good for a really strict tournament setting?

I'm disagreeing but I think they make the lines very subtle... and if you've seen the 'new' deployment maps in the 8th edition book - Ugh, they are kind of a pain to measure out especially with terrain.

@McCraggen I love that mat, nice choice!
