Playing around with idea for jet-engine flame; is just cotton wool teased out and inked with red and yellow. Pretty happy with how it looks. Anyone have better option?

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Nice looking flames!

Not neccessarily a better option but I used some Greenstuff to make the flames, and also the stand, for my Hellblade (WIP):

Perhaps not brilliantly looking and it uses up quite a bit of Greenstuff but it isn't half bad for make shift stand. Also, someone with actual modeling skill could probably make a better flame than me if they put their mind to it.

(Though next time I might take a leaf out of your book and just go for some cotton wool)

Not bad, and it gets the point across.

But... look up some pictures of jets on afterburner online. It doesn't look anything like that.

Realise it does not look realistic going for effect

Version 1 the red ink seeped into the yellow ink making it all red.
Version 2 just yellow ink and then drybrushed orange+red.

Interesting. I think it actually detracts from the Eldar look of the vehicle personally. Looks more fitting for a rougher Imperium or Ork vehicle.
