Hi All

I want to try to make more time to paint but I spend about half my week away from home. So I want some kind of portable painting solution. Preferably something I can keep on my desk at home and easily pack up to transfer elsewhere. Something like the following would be useful, but maybe with less setup/putting together time.

I appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Carlos

Vallejo did do their own equivalent (I'm 90% sure they did, anyway....), but I can only find this.

Vallejo had paint stands at one time, but I don't believe they've ever had a portable paint station.

If you can find something like this

you could bolt on a handle with a bit of wood working, maybe a lock bar or clasps on the front so things dont spill out.

would look nice on a desk.

Honestly depends how fancy you want it and how much stuff you've got. I've got about 30 assorted paints and washes plus a couple of spray cans. I just have an old Trygon box that I fix all the paints in, use card and blue tac to compartmentalise, then put the spray cans in the bag with it. Simples.

I’ve gone with this for now though I may put some mdf paint holding space in the case later.

Haha more like 4 months forgetting about it and using a card case and a carrier bag for paint until I found a cheap pluck and pull flight case and thought “that will do”

Yeah the handle is pretty awesome and using ink safely store a model works really well

Well, I'm building this, it may not be the most portable but it shows what you can do on the cheap. If you want a little more portable you could make it half as high as this, which would be 1' tall, but make it a "back to back" one that would be twice as deep, like maybe I should have and might do if it weren't glued and screwed together. Doing that would make it about a foot high, a foot wide and like 8" deep. is that portable enough?

I just use an old tackle box. As long as you’ve got water and a paper towel at your destination it works like a charm and fits everything you need.

I saw with eyes then young, and this is my testament.
