This is going to be my first real attempt at conversions. My current goal is to create an Exalted Champion and 10 Berzerkers with chain axes & chain swords. The plan is to make 30k style World Eaters with MKIII armor.

I currently have the MKIII space marine pack that comes with 10 chain swords meant to be worn around the waist.

As well as the actual Khorne Berzerker box that comes with 6 chain axes and 6 chain swords.

I am attempting to model the bolter hands to hold the waist chain swords as they fit into the hand nicely but I haven't figured out a way to make the arm look natural.

If any one has an suggestions for this I am open to any ideas. I am willing to buy another box of something if needed. I also have a decent amount of green-stuff, but I am not very experienced in using it.

One day I'll put something funny here.

Gs requires tools and tbh sculpting experience.
Ive found that cutting is good because gw berzerkers 2003 are actually pretty good like everyone says. (Soft and mushy plastic thats still hard enough to cut you)
Mine are hardly news nor particularly well executed, but take a peek?

Mix and match torsos and legs so you end up with 15-20?
I have some in gallery, but have no laptop at the moment for quick paint job nor wip pics for specifics regarding messing up of shoulder joints.
Soz.
Do you know cutting of the shoulder joint?
Dont mean that to sound like im talking to a child.

The waist chainswords are modelled to fit, so will all have to be facing down or in?

I dont just want to say something as simple as one arm back one arm forward, but its essentially what it comes down to for the swingy thing if you want any of that.

Mess up the shoulder joints a lot and cover with shoulder pad to get the right pose, fill in if you over cut with shavings from your knife, dont cut yourself, plaster up your thumb with tape before cutting, cut towards thumb with a used craft knife not an exacto (lol, who the fukah uses exactos). I ran mine through some heavy paper card on top of a cutting mat a few times to dull it way down from razor sharp. Knife is still a knife. 8 zerks probably took over 100 cutting decisions which left a decent amount of shavings to go back in. My first real sculpting attempt.

For starters like we, gs looks situational to models we are familiar with where basic ammendments are concerned.

Also, the running legs are really great. TILT mk3 torsos with bzker heads, looking straight or down depending on axis of swing.
They will me back!
Deld are next on my list because they enabled pj only.
Praise sculptor.

Was losing faith and here you are.
Also, raptors box has chainswords+pistols and passable khornate heads.
Not got new rules or codex, but also lightning claws.
Ended up playing end of 7th with zerk models as khornate chosen.

But you know, first go, spend all your hours with knife and glue.
Im maybe ocd so 8 zerks took like a day and a half after a few years of being weirded out by brass trim and power armour in general.

Also, assembly line and paint before assembling and apply glue accurately.

Sorry for the confession level of scattered vagueness.
I dont know what salt is, so yknow, your project and stuff.
Gl, just some words and some pics.
Beware greenstuff.
2003 kit oh yeah.

I'd use the berzerker arms, and put the mkiii wrist plating over the forearms. A little filing on the arm, and drill and file the wrist plates and it'll fit easily into place.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

If you're going for a more 30k aesthetic then I wouldn't touch the Berzerker box: grab some mk.3 marines and buy a load of chainswords/chainaxes online, maybe buy a WE upgrade pack from FW to make them look more like Berzerkers.

My Berzerkers were made from a combination of Berzerkers and Blood Warriors, which make for an impressive horde of Berzerkers (IMO) but they lack the cleaness that you'd be looking for in your conversion.

No worries, this is 100% my first attempt in doing anything that doesn't follow book directions so I do not know about "cutting the shoulder joint". It seems like a good idea because you can hide the cut under the shoulder pad. Do you know of any tutorial that explains how to do it nicely?

Mrhappyface, the idea only came to me because I got a box of MKIII a while ago and ended up not needing more tactical marines for my loyalist army.

One day I'll put something funny here.

Ah, well if you are ok with a more corrupted look for your Berzerkers, defintely check out Blood Warriors: the bulckier torsos and taller bodies make for far more intimidating Zerkers.

No tuts that ive seen, i just applied general crafts approach i suppose?
Mainly the knife thing, and i unfortunately didnt get that much variation in.
Just tried for something as clean as possible.

Also, regards the pack being 15 years old, we'll see a primaris scaled update. Ofc, the 2003 kit will remain much more variable. I may even stay away from the new kit entirely except for a one time buy.
Not rly digging the new power armour work tbh... like wth did they do to typhus... how did they not just apply kharn treatment (kharns profile is a little too flag wavey at that).

I won't lie, those actually look pretty good.

I was considering the World Eater heads, both Vet and Normal, for sprucing up some squads. I have the dliemma of a couple squads worth of the standard plastic ones, and trying to figure out how to... improve.. them.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Nice and clean, very nice for an early chaos/heresy era Berzerker.

I may have gotten ahead of myself and used blood for the blood god, before applying my transfers. Lucky I am a slow painter and only messed with one model.

(Not sure why the images are posting sideways, if you click the image it turns right side up.)
