Hi, I like a lot black and white art and I have to get better giving deepness to my miniatures. So i thoight a black and white project, building a small Idoneth Deepikin army, could be interesting and a good training.

My idea is to make almost everything in greyscale and some details with a strong acid green. Contrasting with the rest and maybe doing some luminescence/glow effect.
In my mind the result should be of some effect, but may be it's a stupid idea. I accept opinions.

I use citadel colors and a lot of greys and whites are blu or red oriented. In your opinion should I stick to white scar and abaddon black and do the grayscale by myself?

Any advice or some author I should watch?

I thought it sounded like a cool idea, until you said you wanted to use some colours, in which case I started wondering if you really wanted to do black and white at all...
FWIW, I thought it sounded amazing when I thought you were going to do full on greyscale.

Thanks for the feedback.

In lack of better examples, my idea was more or less the effect of Sin City. A small colored detail on a full grayscale image.
(So completely desaturated, which is my problem with the large gamma of citadel greys).

I did a few models in greyscale using GW paints. I mostly used Ulthuan grey, Celstra grey, Mechanicus Standard grey, Scar White and Abbadon black.

Not my plan but I love the bases you have done.

Have you looked at (my personal favourite) the painter ThirdEyeNuke? They excel at a very black/white, dark/light palette - you'll see it on about 85% of their models.
