Hey everyone

At the moment I am thinking about getting a large amount of inceptors however a big issue I have with the models are their bases. From what I have heard/seen they are quite weak and can be a pain to put together.
I would have preferred to just have them on their round bases however from the look of their poses that may not work and I doubt I have enough skill or the tools to modify their poses.
So I am wondering if anyone has and advice or alternatives for this?

Cheers everyone

Alright, here's a couple of pictures that I hope to use in helping me describe the somewhat... complex.. issue of the Inceptor Flight Stands.

Pic 1 - it's hard to see because of the metallic paint, but there's two small cylinders in the jetpack that are horizontal reference to the front and vertical faces. Whatever genius designed these models (and needs to be drug out behind the wood shed and given some remedial lessons in applied logical design) made the flight stand so that unlike EVERY OTHER FLIGHT STAND IN THE GAME AND MOST OTHER SYSTEMS it doesn't have a Post or Ball socket, no the damn thing knuckles between those two cylinders and half-cups them. That's right, they don't have an actual hard-fixed mounting design to them. They are only held on two faces instead of all around the stand.

Pic 2 - this was my quick and dirty solution to the design. I use 20 gauge steel wire for my pinning purposes, and I have two sizes of drillbit for this - 1/32" which provides a tight, snug fit and a 1mm bit that makes a firm but loose socket. I took my 1mm bit (because tight fit in acrylic like the stands will invite breaking) and drilled into the stand. From there I applied some superglue and sank the pin wire into a modest amount of the flight stand. From this I formed my new version of the mounting, by bending the pin upwards and using the 1mm drill bit again to make a pin hole between those two cylinders. There's plenty of material at that point, so you can get a decent hold, and it gives you the ability to remove the model from the stand for better storage solutions.
