Hi all,

I decided to start up a Stormcast army as a painting project-away-from-project (a nice way of saying when I get sick of painting 'nids, I'll paint these to stay sane).

I picked up one of the £20 starter boxes with 3 Liberators and 2 Retributors with the intention of using the 3 easy build Libs to test the colours and methods I wanted to use. Unlike my other armies, I wanted to do something less-shiny and more realistic with some dirt, marking the armour etc.

I finally settled on a dirty bronze (no wash, just drybrushing up from Rhinox Hide) with the primary colour being Sotek Green

Apologies for the poor picture - only my phone at hand. The flash makes them look a little brighter than they actually are but in general just looking for a bit of feedback before I fully commit to the scheme.

Base-wise, I have a "Dark Runes" roller from green Stuff World but have a Temple one coming any day now which I'll be trying instead. Also when my dead Static grass arrives, I'll be adding it into the cracks

I like the color scheme. That shade of green goes well with the metallics.

Nice job, like how the green and gold go together.

I start with Rhinox Hide as a base colour, followed by airbrushing the following in increasingly lighter brush strokes

Rhinox and Balthazar gold (50 / 50)
Balthazar gold
Hashut Copper
Sycorax Bronze
Sycorax and Runefang Silver (50 /50)

On a separate note, I'm thrown by the base as the gold and turquoise is leaning me towards a desert base - but I look at the options side by side and I genuinely can't pick so opinions welcome.

I did a large base with Agrellan and a smaller sandstone base as well
