Hi folks,
I recently started a necron army and i'd like them to have no colour apart from metal that looks really old so they're still interesting to look at. Heres what I came up with so far but i'm not really satisfied:
Edit: when I get home I'll have to double check if my tomb sentinel really has two different colored sides. O.O

Weathering powders. Maybe try an oxide one? I can't tell if your metal is iron or tin in colour, but powders will give you a nice aged look.

I just did some worn, rusted metal on a plague cleaver, and there's a really simple way to do it:
Base everything you want metallic in a dark reddish brown; I used Secret Weapon Miniatures Dark Rust, but anything will do. Use a piece of torn foam or sponge and dab different lighter browns and oranges over the dark brown. On this cleaver, I used Vallejo Model Air Rust and VMA Orange. Using another piece of torn foam/sponge, dab on your choice of metallic, in this case it was GW Leadbelcher. Add more on the corners and where you think the rust would get worn off. You can do this again with a brighter metallic along the edges, but it's purely optional. After that, you can add washes to you content to dirty everything up a little or add depth to the details.

This here be the easiest way.
Typhus Corrosion is simply amazing. Get some and rust is a no brainer.
Put it where you want rust. Seal.

I used a similar technique on these:
