Got the blending down ok and it's a cool result, but it still doesn't look like 'metal' if you guys know what I mean? C&C welcome.

Looks good. Nice blends. I'd say that the little aquila at the point needs some contrast on either side. So put a little black on the apex of the white wing, and vice versa.

And maybe tone down the white edge highlight on the black side too, it's quite heavy. Could be a little more subtle.
