So, I've been working on some conversions for my Eldar force, and was hoping to get some feedback on them. First up is a group of Exodite Shining Spears. Because why wouldn't I want my Exodite Shining Spears to ride velicoraptors?

Second up is an Autarch conversion I was working on. Now, I didn't actually intend for this Autarch to be female when I started the conversion: I just wanted a Banshee mask on a normal Autarch. Unfortunately, the Banshee head didn't really fit on the Autarch body. So... I performed surgery. Things got a little out of hand. I wound up cutting and slicing way more than I intended to, combined pieces from four different miniatures, and then I had to patch a bunch of holes with green stuff. So yeah. I didn't intend for the end result to be a female Autarch when I started, but honestly? I think she'll be happier this way.

So with the Shining Spears, the thing I am having trouble with is finding some way to mount the Shuriken Catapults. Anyone have any suggestions?

Fantastic looking autarch.

As for the shurikens....
Either side of the mount head, aka laser shark
Pintle mounted off the mount neck, krootox style
Shoulder mount 2x shuriken pistols on the riders...?

Its difficult to think of esomething thatll just work. Good place to start is just blue tacking a couple in different places and seeing what works balance/practicality wise.

Nice... I've been making some exodites too but i've been going for a different vibe. I also don't play so i just want to make realistic looking models... Which is why i wouldn't bother trying to shoe-horn the catapults on.

That being said if you need to do this for gaming legality i would try and think of a way that looks natural... do you have to represent both twin-linked catapults?

If not just give them a pistol (harlequins or dire avengers kits) in a holster or a catapult (guardian kits) slung over their back... if you do need both twin-linked then do both. They could also be represented as baggage on the dragon.

This would be a more believable approach for me. I personally don't like the 'eldar bits jammed on dinos' look for exodites.

Good luck... great work so far.

Great exarch, really dynamic pose. Works better as a lady to me, goes with the banshee mask better to my mind.

I like the shining spears too, conversion works well. As has already been said, if you don't need your models to be strictly WYSIWYG it's probably not worth worrying about the catapults (it's not an upgrade option after all, they always have them and they are a fairly common unit so most people will know what they have) as you risk ruining the nice balance the models have. If you do need them there have already been some good suggestions, the only other thing I can think of is to have wrist mounted catapults, a bit like Grey night storm bolters. Using shuriken pistols might make more sense size wise though I'm not sure how easy they are to come by

Love the colors! Looking very strong.
And that is quite clever to have Eldar on, what I presume, Cold-Ones. Are those DE bodies as well?

Yeah. Started with a box of Dark Elf Cold One Knights and mixed in a bunch of Dire Avenger parts and patched up what few holes there were with green stuff. Was originally going to use Shining Spear parts from the conversion box, but they had a hard time fitting the models I was using.

Brilliant! They look great!
I have seen some conversions for the Krieg death Riders, and never though of mixing DE and Eldar fantasy to 40K

Well, after a great deal of trying and failing, I think I've given up on getting the shuriken catapults mounted to the models. Not strictly necessary, I know, but it would have been nice.

Anyway, here's the final paintjob for the Exarch and his mount. You can't see it, but there's a line of grey scales dividing the green into two sections. Debating whether or not to go back and add a scattering of irregular dark scales into the green in general to make it less uniform. The rest of the lizards are going to be blue-belly velociraptors. Mostly because it makes me happy, even though hardly anyone is ever going to see the details of their bellies.
